Technologies

The technologies today have become in a very and fundamental factor for all the world. This area has had an amazing development that has dramatically changed the way that today we living. If we think it very carefully we can see that the system in the world turn arround the develop of technologies for example the country or company that have new technologies or something bettter the other countries or people work foe get the same things for be to the same level and have the same benefits. But we have to make us the question that why this area is so important for the world, and the answer is very simple and only a word "comfort".


Now, specifically for the career Physical Therapy and most speccifically, the techonologies that I only have used this year, I can say that this area is very important for the develop of this disipline (physical therapy) in relation with the patients and the society in general. We like students for now we have not employed many technological devices related to the career but if we had an approach to working with them. For example the "stethoscope" this is an instrument that is usefull for heard differents sounds inside our body for example the sounds that we do when we breathe or the pumping of our heart. So if we heart this sounds we can do our job like heal arrhythmias associated with heart disease or heart fluid in the lungs and can not function very good, so if we have this informations we can do a good diagnosis.

Other technological object is the "esfingomanometro", This instrument is used for get the blood pressure. This information is very important because we can know if our heart is working without problems.

Other instrument is the microscope, a very important object for the science in general because with this instrument we descovered a new "world" that in the past we couldn't see


In conclusion we saw that the technology is very important for the humanity in general, and most important for the differents careers or disciplines that today exist. That is the case of physical therapy, a career that use this technological objects for make a good diagnosis and developing therapies for health people. So we can say that the technology is essential for the differents disciplines like science or economy, etc but without question a fundamental requirement for that we our style of life, our lazy sryle of life.

Challenges in your discipline.

Well a challenge is something that is in front of you, and you have to resolve innovating or make new things for have success.

Actually in Physical Therapy are appearing a lot of challenges that we as professionals must resolve with the passing of time and bit by bit.

The challenges about the technology, for the physical therapy are appearing like new implements that make that our discipline will be better. For example if somebody create a new machine for something especific, that machine will be used in that area for do the same things but now better, or for do new things and with that maybe create a new discipline. So we as physical therapist need have initiative for create new things and with that resolve the new challenges.

About the social matters the physical therapy have a very important role, because we have to remember that a physical therapist is who work step by step in the recovery process of something who have a injurie, so our job is make that recovery be the best in an emotional and physical area and now our challenge in this area is to be innovating and creating new methodologies for get better results in this aspect.

And now in education, we have a very important challenge because with the educationd that receive the new physical therapists, we are forming to the new professionals that work with the society so if we have a good educations the future physical therapist will have a good performance with the society and with the discipline. So we as preofessionals have to give a good educations, that is our challenge because that is our future. Well that was all bye

Improving your faculty

WHAT IS THE CURRENT SITUATION IN YOUR FACULTY?

Well actually in my faculty are happening things very common, class every days the same teachers, every friday we have partys. But one things is differents to the other days, and is that the people that work in the university like people who clean differents places or the people who work in the library are protesting for have better remunerations.

WHAT THINGS NEED IMPROVEMENT?

Well in my opinion the things that I think have to be improved is the cleaning in differents places like the bathroom or the dining room. Other thing is the organization in the university like when two differents careers have class in the same room. Other thing is the relation between the differents sectors like onde school career and the ICBM, for organize the class. And the most important is the infrastructure, is very bad in this faculty.

WHAT WOULD BE YOUR FIRST STEPS TO DEALING WITH THIS SITUATION?

I think that the first step have to be have the initiative for resolve the problems, because is I don't want resolve the bad things I can do anythings.

HOW WOULD YOU RESOLVE THIS SITUATION?

With respect to the cleaning, I would hire more people for clean the differents places with more frequency and with respect the infrastructure I would use the resources of the faculty and with goods projects improve this building.

WHAT COULD BE THE REAL BENEFITS/IMPACT OF THESE IMPROVEMENTS?

I think that the impact and the benefits will be very important because if we have a new or a better and beautifull building everything will be more comfortable and nice, and if the faculty is more clean the hygiene will be better and will be a place more secure.

NEXT STEPS & FURTHER RECOMMENDATIONS

I think that the next step and the most important things have to be have the initiative to sort out the problems here in the university because if we don't have that anythinf in the future will be better. That was all, bye.

Hobbies

Well personally I have a lot of hobbies, thigs that I love to do in differents moments, but there is one kind of hobbies that have something in common, the Sport like go to the gym for have a good physical condition or play football with my friends the most of the time for have fun. I practice sports since I was a little boy so this hobbies help me very much to shape my personality, they teach me discipline for do difficult things also teach me constancy and perseverance to overcome the differents sports problems. Now in the real life that is very important to overcome very difficult problems, for example the university, and with that skills I can be a better person.

Other hobbie that I have is the dance, this is a new hobbie because when I was a child the dance was very difficult for me, remember that I am a man so I am a little stiff, but now in the university mi friend Natalia invited me to take classes of salsa and this was the best, the first class the dance steps weren't very hard but with the past of the time the difficulty was increasing so I had to practice very much and now Im a very good dancer. This hobbie gived to me the confidence for do things a little shameful but with the time are very good things.

Other hobbie is go out with my firends and have a good time. I love this because I can meet new people, go to the disco to dance and do funny things. This is a very good hobbie because teach me to relate me with other people and have a lot of friends, one of the things most important in the life... the friends. Well that was all bye.

Holiday destinations (with mark)

Well about the holiday destinations, one of my favorite holidays in the past was when I and some friends went to Pucon, a place in the south of the country. Went arround fifteen friends between boys and girls in the summer of 2007. The place and the landscape is beautifull, with amazing forests, bush and lakes. The people is very firendly even the tourists, we have to remember that Pucon is a very famous place so a lot of tourist go there for past his holidays. I with my friends went to parties, walk a lot of for appreciate the differents landscapes... definitely that was one of my best holidays.

Now, for the next summer holidays I have a lot of plans. First have some time with my family, in the past we have gone to differents places like La Serena, Pucón, El Canelo, Iquique but for the next travel I only hope we are all together and recovery the time that we have lost during the year, remember that with my and my sister studies and the job of my parents the time for have fun is very short.

Moreover, second of all the most probably is that with some friends of the university of my career, physical therapy, go to the beach for the next holidays maybe the place will be La Serena or El Kisco, but the place doesn't matter the most important is have a good time and go to a lot of parties.

For end in general, the kind of place that I love for my holidays is the beach, the best place in all the planet. I think that the beach is the best place because we can do a lot of things there, like swim or browse, or use aquatic sky and ride differents aquatic transports. In the sand we can do differents things like build beautifull sandcastles, make sand wars or dig a hole or simply take sun and get a good tan, so the beach is a perfect place for the family and the friends. Scientists decode human genome's instruction manual

Ten years ago the scientific community deciphered the real human genome but now the big problem is how all this genes, about 25.000, work togheter to make that the human body can exist and live. Actually scientists in California published the first manual that explains how the genetic work and they think that it can be used for know what things of our actually life is wrong like who smoked as youngsters may cause that his grandchildren have a puberty early , or for heal the cancer, the SIDA and mental disorders for example the schizophrenia.

Other problem that the scientific community have is descover the "Epigenoma" it is the mehcanism that our body use for make differents cells, almost two hundred differents cells but actually only have a vague idea. A team led by Joseph Ecker at the Salk Institute in La Jolla, California now is working with stem cells and diseased cells comparing the epigenoma of them. The team of Mr. Ecker said to the journal Nature that this information is extremely valuable.

Scientists like Stefan Beck and Ryan Lister say that we only have idea of the epigenoma but the first fruits of the project are coming out.

For finish, the most important objetive of discover the Epigenoma is that with this we can know all the differents between diseased and a normal cell and fix it healing a lot of diseases.

-> What to do in Santiago <-

Well when a foreign come here to Santiago, the principal place of Chile because it is the capital of the country, can visit different places where can past a good time. Specifically, at the moment of take the choice of wich place visit you have to think in what things do you want to do. For example if you are a young man can go to Suecia or Bellavista, this are very good places for enjoy a party and meet new people. Or if you are here with your family can go to different places like El cerro Santa Lucía where you can enjoy a beautifull landscape of all the city or go to El cerro San Cristobal, where you can find an amazin zoo with beautifull and wild animals.

Other option is that if you want to see the city can walk for the streets or use the subway for go anywhere, if you want to do this I recommend you visit the center of Santiago, here the Plaza de Armas, the Central Mail, the Municipalidad of Santiago and the principal street of the city La Alameda Bdo. Ohiggins

Other importan place here in Santiago, especially for the sports are the different centers for the sky and the snowboard or any "white sport", exist different centers like El colorado or Valle nevado. Well that was only a little resume of the things that you can do here in Santiago. Bye!

The music one of the most beautifull things in the world, have a very important place in my life. For me the music, is one of the things that can clear my mind when I am anxious. With the music I can change bored moments for funny moments so the music is important in all the acitivities of the day.

I like to listen all kind of music, don´t have one style in especial, I think that if I have one in especial in some way I am closed to other music, moreover I think that the different styles have very good songs so I listen everyone of them. I get the music principally from internet, the most easy and cheap place where you can download music to you laptop.

Well, for the differents moments I listen different styles of music, for example when I am studying try to listen soft music for be concentrated. In happy moments I listen all types of music, and in sad moments try to listen happy music and funny for left the things that make bad. Well that was all. Bye

Transantiago, before and after

Well, the new system of transport here in Santiago is the "Transantiago". I think that the new system is better that the last system, because in the past especially for the students, the drivers was very bad with them, never stop and was rude with them. Other thing is that the past system we had to pay with coins or banknotes but now we have the "Tarjeta BIP", is like a credit card but especially for the public transport.

When the "Transantiago" was implemented in the city, was horrible , nobody knew what to do. In the street were few buses, insufficient for all the people. Nobody knew hoy use the Tarjeta BIP, the frecuency was very bad, the buses stop changed, everything was new and we had little information. But now is better, so much better. We have the necesary information, and the practice for use the Transantiago.

Now the things that I would change to make the system better are very few, because the principal problem, the frecuency, is better. The principal thing that I would change is not the system, is the culture of society, because now nobody pay the passage and don't care the buses.
Well, that was all, and I hope that the system in our country be the best.

A country I would like to visit

Well the country that I would like to visit is Spain, in my opinion one of the best countries of the world. This country is located in the occidental part from Europe, and the things that I love from it is that in that place people are very educated because they have a big history of literature so they have a very bic culture in this area. Other think that I love from there is that the landscape is beautiful, the beachs have a warm sea and white sand. And the last thing, is that in the city the architecture should differents currents and styles.

The things thad I would like to do there is do the same thinks that I love do here in Chile, go out with my friends and practice the physical theraphy, all this with only one diference that there I can enjoy beautiful landscapes, and be with very good people.

I think that in Spain I would like keep studying physical therapy, but with more free time for can do the thins that I love. I think that the physical therapy is the best career in the world, so being here in Chile or in any other country I would like keep with this. Well that was all.

Sumary of previous Experiences (SECOND TERM)

Well, the experiences during the first term of 2009 was very good. I had very differents experiences sometimes a bad experiences but the most part of the time was very good moments. In the family area, the relation with my parents and my sister was very good, better than ever, feel that Im a more responsible person so Im more preocupated in the relation with them, thing that I never did before.

In the university I pass all the subject, in fact, I pass it with very good marks so Im very conformed. The most part of the subjects was very interestig but others was very bored. In the sports area, I practiced very much sport I think that in this moment have a very good physical condition, I play football, swimming, weights, etc.

I went to very much parties, I love it because you can have a very funny moment with your friends without preocupations. Almost every fridays I stay in the university parties, was very good.

Now the objetives that I have are the same, have the better relation with my family, have very much friends, and have good results in the university and simply be happy with my life. Well that was all hope you enjoy my comment.

Well, in the conference are three the topics that Ken Robinson make reference. First, is the evidence of the human creativity. The second is the incapacity to know the future. And the third part is the really extraordinary capacities that children have for the innovation.

The third part was the most interesting, because he said that the education that the children of all the world receive make that the capacity of creativity and the ability of make new things decrease while they become in adults. When someone is a child is not afraid to make mistakes but with the past of the time and the education that the school give to the children, they prepare them for dont make mistakes. Ken Robinson said that nobody can create new thing without running the risk of being wrong. Where all this idea of dont make mistake refers to the productivity and the industralization.

The actually system of education can´t differentiate the differents skills of the children. Only wants the typics skills for example maths or cience, but the arts is not important.

Well I think that the work in one special website like "blogspot" is very possitive because give to the students other place where practice the english. Was interesting the work in this page because the topic of the text was very atypical, like how will be our favorite job, or wich was our favorite subject, or one person that is or was important for the development of our career. About
if I enjoy the work in this page, I can say that didn't was very fun because was an obligation and not something complementary to the class.

Moreover, I think that this website help me to improve mi english, because sometimes I dont knew a word so I looked for this word and find this word help me to learn it. In other moments, I knew how say something but not write it, so help me to improve this aspect.

Well, about the advantages and disadvantages of use a blog in the English class, I think that is very positive because give other moment where apply the knowledge gived in the class.

-> My ideal Job <-

Well exist differents jobs in our society, so choice one is very difficult. I love the physical therapy so I think that my future job will be in this area(Im studying this career). The physical therapy have differents especialities and the especiality that I chosen is neurology or respiratory, two interesting are of the physical therapy. In the case of a job in the neurology area the best place for this job is the Teletón, this place have a very good equipment and the most important a very nice objetive that is the rehabilitation of little children.
For this job the main quality is the vocation to do this job, and the principal skill is know everything about the human body and the nervous system. I think that I would be good for this job mainly because I have the vocation for make this job. This job is not hard to find, in fact this especiality es highly required for the high numer of people that have neurological injuries.
Well, that was the idea that I have, in this moment, about how my ideal job will be.

-> My favorite Subject <-

Well, my favorite subject in this term is anatomy, the subject most difficult of the year. Maybe it looks extrange but it's is very funny . When you study this subject you see the bodies in the photograph of the book ( Anathomy of Netter) and later see the real body in front of you, is very interesting know all the muscles, nerves, veins ,arteries and all kinds of structures that you study before. In the first year are four the teachers that teach me anathomy, specifically two physical therapist, one sonographer and one doctor. They are very strict, the class with them is very intense but you learn a lot of things that you going to used before in your work. In this semester I have to learn all parts of the boy, the head , the neck , the upper limb, the lower limb and the thorax. I hope aprovethis subject without problems. Bye

Well, I have thought many time about the idea that how I will be in five years, and many things come to my mind, but I will say as I wolud to be in five years. In the next five years I will be ending my career, physical therapy, if I approve all subjects with goods califications, I hope so. Maybe, I will be starting with my first job in some specifis place dedicated to the rehabilitation or maybe I will be taking a course for one especializations inside my career, in this point Im not very sure wich to chose, exist three options respiratory, neurology and physic. In the personal area, I hope to be happy with the things that Im doing, don´t think that I make mistake. Well, in the career physical therapy have existed a lot of physical therapist who have contributed to the development of the career since the begining. Nowadays one physical tharaper is working on a proyect that going to revolutionize the chilean physical therapy, her name is Veronica Aliaga, a teacher and a researcher from the Universidad de Chile. Her job consist in a investigation about the "Breast Cancer", and how the work of the physical theraper can help to the women to recovery from this disease. If the results of the investigation are positives this disease can be included in the health's program from Chile "GES" that mean "warranties of Health" before called "AUGE". It can be a big change in the society, because a lot of women can acces to the right treatment without spending money and have a better recovery. Well, Im in the first year of my career, Physical Therapy, the best career of all. Im studying physical therapy because is a very beautifull career, you work with people that need your help, like old people, athlets, and children, I love the children, is the best part of all.

For society, the physical therapist, is the responsible of recovering people with different injuries, such as physical and neurological injuries. I think that the tools that a professional in the physical therapy area will need in the future is that they going to have a lot of new mechanicals intruments, with new techonologies for different specific injuries. In the aspect of the capacitation of the physical therapist I think that in the future are going to exist new discoveries, new treatments and new therapies so they going to study it's a lot of for implement all these in the patient.
